Retirement can mean more time to do the things that you’ve always wanted to do, like learning to use a computer or tracing your family history. The Library Service offers you the opportunity to ‘Try IT’ with a friendly 1 to 1 session covering everything from the very basics to using the Ancestry website. They can help you to get started and can point you in the direction of useful resources available for free through libraries. Most libraries offer free training sessions, including how to use the internet to track down your ancestors and useful websites. Some family history training sessions are run by knowledgeable volunteers from the local community so, if you have an interest in genealogy and would like to share your knowledge with other people, please contact your local library.
