Staying Well Expert Patients Programme

The staying Well Expert Patients Programme is a six week course for anyone living with a long term health condition. Its aims are to help you take control of your health by learning new skills to manage your condition better on a daily basis. Each session lasts for two and a half hours and is facilitated by trained tutors who are themselves living with a long term condition. The Staying Well programme complements existing health care programmes and treatments, empowering participants to be more informed and better able to develop partnerships with their medical practitioners.

Free Concessionary Travel Scheme

Who is eligible?
From 6th April 2010 there will be a change in the age at which people qualify for a concessionary pass. The change is linked to equalising the pension age of men and women to 65. People who reach the age of 60 before 6th April or qualify on the grounds of disability are not affected by this change. To qualify you must be a resident in England.

When can you use your pass?
The National Concessionary Pass allows you to enjoy free off-peak travel on local buses anywhere in England. The national free entitlement operates between 9.30am and 11pm Monday to Friday and all day at the weekends and on public holidays.

How do you apply for your travel pass and how much does it cost?
The concessionary travel passes are initially free of charge, however if you lose your pass a fee may be charged for the replacement. Contact Bassetlaw District Council on 01909 533533 for details.

WHAT IS ABUSE OR MISTREATMENT?

Abuse or mistreatment can be many things.

Physical including hitting, slapping, punching, kicking or the misuse of medication on someone.

Sexual including rape or sexual assault acts which the person has not consented to. It may be non contact such as teasing or being photographed.

Psychological including threats, humiliating someone, controlling or intimidating.

Financial including stealing or tricking the person out of money or material possessions like their house or jewellery.

Discriminatory including racist, sexist, that based on a person’s disability and other forms of harassment.

Neglect is also a form of abuse – leaving someone without food or heating, refusing to take care of personal needs and failing to provide access to appropriate health and social care may all be forms of neglect.

We deliver hot or frozen meals to your door and ALL our deliveries are FREE.  You select the choice and number of meals you require and  leave the rest to us.  With over 26years experience we appreciate the importance of our customers. Our meals are made from fresh ingredients with no salt or preservatives added. Our ingredients are sourced locally where possible and all meats are traceable back to the farm.  All nutritional values are stated on each meal packaging offering consistency and reliability. We have a range of over sixty meals covering most traditional favourites, as well as something that little bit special  and a range of meals suitable for most dietary needs i.e. diabetic, vegetarian, pureed meals and gluten free. Our chefs continue to look at new recipes that they can add to the already extensive menu.

All your meals will be delivered to your door by one of our team of professional drivers.  All our staff have a high regard for customer care and you can expect to be treated with respect. Our drivers are aware that sometimes they will be the only visitor of the day so they will be prepared to assist with any concerns, including carrying out small tasks such as assisting you to the table, pouring a cold drink or posting a letter if required. Our safe and well checks are there to give you that extra peace of mind.

To assist with payments we have made all our premier range, breakfasts and tea time snack packs one price.  For just £3.95 you can select the main course and sweet course of your choice from our menu.  If you would like an extra treat our a la carte range are available for £4.25 without a dessert which may be purchased separately.
